One Donor's Gift
The Donor
A retired pastor inherited his mother’s home in Florida. He wanted to be relieved of landlord responsibilities and of selling the home. At the same time, he had specific charities that he wanted to benefit.
His Gift
- He transferred the title of the home to the Foundation and received a charitable deduction of $100,000, the appraised fair market value.
- The Foundation sold the home and the resulting proceeds were used to create a fund in the pastor’s name.
