Martin Luther once said, "even if I knew that the world would end tomorrow, I would still plant an apple tree today."
In this spirit, the Foundation has made a gift to the Arbor Day Foundation to have 600 trees planted in honor of donors who will be celebrating the 5th, 10th or 15th year anniversary of their charitable fund in 2010.
Over the course of 50 years, a single tree can generate $31,250 of oxygen, provide $62,000 worth of air pollution control, recycle $37,500 worth of water, and control $31,500 worth of soil erosion. (source: Arbor Day Foundation)
These trees will grow to benefit future generations, just as charitable funds will continue to change lives and spread joy for years to come (see The Value of a Perpetual Fund).
