Many churches have found bookmarks placed in the hymnals to be an easy way to keep the endowment fund in front of the congregation on a regular basis. Here are some samples from two Twin Cities churches:
Saint James Evangelical Lutheran Church reminds members to "Mark Your Place in the continuing works of this congregation by contributing to the Endowment Fund."
University Lutheran Church of Hope uses a seed as their logo. In addition to placing the bookmarks, which are printed on buff colored stock in green ink, in the hymnals the committee members act as greeters once a year on "Trust Sunday", handing out small, inexpensive packets of flower or vegetable sees to everyone who comes in the door.

New Bookmarks
Since you gave us the idea for bookmarks last spring, I thought you would like to see the finished product.
Attached is a pdf image of the sheet of five bookmarks that went off to the printer today. We are getting 250 sheets printed or 1,250 bookmarks for $142. This is for 100 pound stock with an aqueous coating (not sure what the latter is, but it makes it a little more sturdy). These will be placed in the hymnals in the pews and kept there until they all disappear. I think it is a great and not an overly intrusive way to keep the Endowment in front of people.
If another congregation wanted to use the same design with their church on it, we can probably assist in making that happen. The bookmarks were created with a combination of PhotoShop CS2 and InDesign CS2. The designer would make small changes, like changing the Trinity logo on the front and the address on the back for $50 per organization.
