Christian stewardship involves the faithful management of all the gifts God has given us all -- the created world, the Gospel, life, time abilities, and money, including accumulated, inherited, and appreciated resources. There are countless opportunities to further our Lord's work on earth, and some ministries call for monies not available from the annual budget. That is why Grace established and nurtures the Grace Endowment Fund.
HOW DO YOU WANT TO GIVE?Through the Lutheran Community Foundation, thousands of donors are giving in ways that match their interests and circumstances, so that together we can spread joy and change lives. Here's how:
- Give now = immediate support to the Fund.
- Give later = benefit the Fund upon death
- Give and receive = income now + gift later.
The Grace Endowment Committee, composed of Grace members who are elected by the congregation, oversees the administration and distribution of the Endowment Fund. As approved by the congregation, eighty percent (80%) of the income can be distributed annually, once the fund reaches $250,000. The remaining twenty percent (20%) will be retained in the fund to help it grow.
Earnings from the Fund shall be distributed for the following puposes:
- a minimum of twenty-five percent (25%) for outreach in the community;
- a maximum of ten percent (10%) for missions of the Southern Ohio Synod ministries and missions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America;
- a minimum of twenty-five percent for capital improvement, debt reduction, or a building program of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church; and
- up to forty percent (40%) for any one or all of the above designated areas in any proportion as determined by the Committee.
