This grant was utilized to help underwrite some of the free care and debt that was incurred during the recent fiscal year. In the obstetrical care area, services were provided to 33 patients who were unable to meet their financial obligation, totaling approximately $58,000 of charity care.
"In better financial times, it is easier for us to generate the volumes and revenue necessary to sustain our mission," said Michael Kuhn, Director of Development. "It is in these challenging times that the need is greatest and we rely most heavily on support such as that from the Lutheran Community Foundation."
