One Boy's Story
Randy's parents gave him up when he should have been playing sports and having fun with his friends. He started bouncing from one foster care home to another, running away, and living on the streets, scavenging for food, sleeping in alleys and stealing whatever he could.
When Randy came to the Boys Town Treatment Family Home Program, he discovered a place where he finally felt cared for, a place where he had a family. Today, he's encouraged to go to school and his dreams no longer seem unreachable.
"I know how much it hurts to be abandoned and given up on," said Randy. "It's the emptiest feeling to realize no one wants you. But at Boys Town, I don't have that feeling anymore. I have friends at school and people who believe in me. I know if I work hard every day, they will be proud of me and what I've accomplished."
