Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota provides counseling and family resources, adoptions of children with loving families, resettlement of refugees, and affordable housing for families. This grant was made possible through contributions to Thrivent Financial for Lutherans employee giving campaign.
This grant supported The Center for Changing Lives in Minneapolis, a new multi-service center connected to 48 units of affordable housing. In addition to housing LSS services, The Center for Changing Lives became a community gathering place during 2009 with 4,241 people in attendance at events hosted by organizations such as Fairview Health Services, the State of Minnesota, The Minneapolis Foundation, Ebenezer Foundation, Normandale Community College, Rotary, MN Council on Non Profits, US Green Building Council, Congressman Ellison Town Hall, Native American Community Development Institute, Luther College and others.
