This grant was used to support programs of Lutheran Social Services in the Appleton area: Thompson Community Center and the adult day services within the Center. The grant was made possible through contributions to Thrivent Financial for Lutherans employee giving campaign.

The Thompson Community Center serves the mature adult population, aged 50-100+ years of age, through on-site programming and services as well as outreach to frail older adults. The adult day services provides for older adults whose physical or mental conditions require them to receive supervision and care in a safe environment. 

The mission of LSS is motivated by the compassion of Christ, to help people improve the quality of their lives. This mission is alive in all the services provided in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. People of all ages and faiths are served: Older Adults, Children, Youth and Family, Persons with Disabilities, Addictions and Corrections, Urban Ministries, Behavioral Health, Adoption and Foster Care, and Prison Ministries.
