MONMOUTH COUNTY SPCAMONMOUTH COUNTY SPCA

Eatontown, New Jersey
$41,354 from a Donor Advised Fund

The MCSPCA Spay/Neuter TNR Project supported by this grant attempts to address the unfettered population explosion of feral cats in the Monmouth community.  It was made possible by a donor advisedField of Interest Fund, the Edith H. Hahn Animal and Wildlife Preservation Fund.

Feral cats can reproduce at alarming rates. Reaching crisis proportions in many communities like Monmouth County, this problem is, at the very least, a public nuisance and health hazard that sadly leaves abandoned cats outdoors to fend for themselves against starvation, disease, abuse. This grant was used to subsidize the sterilization of feral cats trapped by these dedicated individuals and groups that are then returned to their colonies to live out their lives without adding to their population. The colonies are then monitored by these volunteers who ensure that the cats have sufficient food, water and shelter. The grant also provided funding to purchase traps, supplies and support to manage the project.
