LUTHERAN SOCIAL SERVICE OF MINNESOTALUTHERAN SOCIAL SERVICE OF MINNESOTA

St. Paul, Minnesota
$32,040

This grant supported the construction of the new Center for Changing Lives in South Minneapolis. The Center for Changing Lives, along with the adjacent housing units, will have a great impact on LSS' ability to help people have the opportunity to live and work in the community with dignity, safety and hope. Construction began in the fall of 2007.

The services of LSS are designed to help people make significant, long-term changes in their lives. The organization strives to reach out to people who need help to live and work in the community. LSS services are extraordinary in the breadth of people served and the range of issues addressed. Constituents include newborn babies, seniors facing a variety of issues related to age or illness, homeless youth and families, refugees, children and adults with disabilities, adults making the transition from welfare, and many others.

The Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota Mission is to express the love of Christ for all people through acts of service.

The grant money was raised as part of the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans employee giving campaign of 2005.
